When I was in the High School, I started to think about my future and watching the situation with the educational system in Romania, I made the decision to study abroad. My cousin, who was already studying in the UK, had a great impact over my decision.  He inspired me and gave me a lot of reasons to follow him here. This was the first step in a long journey that would make me a better person.

When I arrived in the UK, I didn’t know anyone except my cousin who was staying in London. Because it was the first time for me in the UK, it was a little bit difficult for me to do usual things like looking for a house to live in or to go shopping. I did know the language but the accent was a bit hard to the ear. After University started, I met new people and went to new and exciting places with the school.  I also got used to the local accent. From my point of view, Facebook is a great way of communicating and making new friends and also keeping in touch with all the events and parties that take place here.

The educational system is very different from how it is back home and studying in a foreign language is very useful in my opinion. Overall, I feel like it was a good choice to come and study here because it pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me socialize more with all kinds of people with different ethnic and social backgrounds. It also made me much more independent and eager to make something big with my life.
